Now that the Freeride World Tour's Georgia Pro event is wrapped, the rosters for the finals events in Fieberbrunn, Austria, and Verbier, Switzerland, are available.
Here's who made the "cut."
If you've ever watched the Freeride World Tour, you've likely heard the announcers discussing the "cut."
Said phrase refers to the Tour's qualification system. Throughout the season, athletes earn points based on where they place during competitions, with the top scoring six women and 11 men qualifying for the last two events in Fieberbrunn and Verbier.
The system creates pressure, generating exciting moments like podium contender Maxime Chabloz narrowly earning enough points to make the "cut" during the Georgia Pro.
During the finals events, the level of competition is set to be astronomical. The women's and men's fields are evolving rapidly as young up-and-comers inject freestyle elements into the tried and true freeride formula.
While it's truly anyone's game on the women's end, Manon Loschi nearly put a game-changing run to her feet during the Georgia Pro, making her one to watch. Former Olympic mogul skier Hedvig Wessel remains a threat as always, too.
The men's field is similarly stacked, still reeling from 19-year-old Marcus Goguen's winning Georgia Pro run that exploded across the internet.
The next FWT event—the Fieberbrunn Pro—is set to go off next week. As always, you can tune in live or watch the replay for free on the FWT website.
