The lift-served ski season in North America is, for the most part, almost over. But in Colorado, the foot-powered summer freestyle season is about to begin at Copper Mountain.
The ski resort’s hike park, which includes a selection of freestyle features, is set to open on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Located in Copper Mountain’s Center Village between the American Eagle and American Flyer lifts, the hike park, which has real snow, was built with snow-farming techniques.
At $25, tickets to the hike park are cheap. A season pass costs $199. Rentals aren’t available, so if you decide to stop by, you’ll need to bring your own ski equipment—and be comfortable with earning each lap the hard way by walking back up to the top of the park.
This summer, the hike park is scheduled to be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday through Sunday. The park will be open until September, conditions dependent.
During the warmer months, Copper Mountain also hosts its Woodward Copper summer camps, which feature access to a separate real-snow terrain park with numerous freestyle features, an airbag, and a surface lift.
The camp is home to an indoor training facility that boasts skateparks, Olympic-grade trampolines, foam pit jumps, and indoor ski training.
While Woodward Copper mostly offers sessions for youth ages seven through 17, there are two adult weeks. The first was held in late May. The second takes place between August 10 and August 15, 2025.
Outside of its camps and summer skiing, Copper Mountain officially opens for summer on June 20, including activities like mountain biking, scenic lift rides, and hiking. The ski resort concluded its winter season on May 11.
In Colorado, one mountain, Arapahoe Basin, remains open with traditional lift-served skiing and riding. The ski resort has two more weekends of scheduled operations, June 6 through June 8 and June 13 through June 15.
Elsewhere, at Timberline Lodge, Oregon, the summer ski season is just getting started. Road trip, anyone?
