All good things must come to an end, and after 218 operating days, Arapahoe Basin, Colorado, concluded its ski season on June 15, 2025.

The closing day delivered the spring skiing experience Arapahoe Basin is known for, including sunshine, slush, and, of course, laps through the ski area’s all-natural pond skimming spot, Lake Reveal.

Here’s a look at some of the best photos shared by Arapahoe Basin from Closing Day 2025.

As is tradition, Arapahoe Basin notched Colorado’s longest ski and ride season this year. The ski area remains committed to staying open as late as possible and regularly spins its lifts into June. Its latest closing date on record was August 10, 1995.

For Arapahoe Basin, the past season started on November 2 and saw a 22-inch storm before Thanksgiving. Powder skiing happened as late as May 15, when local skiers scored some unexpectedly deep turns for the time of year.

Now, Arapahoe Basin is pivoting toward summer, with its seasonal operations beginning on June 27. The warmer months will involve North America’s highest Via Ferrata, Aerial Adventure Park, biking, hiking, brunch, disc golf, live music, events, and more.

Shayna Silverman, Arapahoe Basin’s communications manager, confirmed that the closure of a portion of U.S. Highway 6—which was hit by a mountain slide Sunday morning—won’t impact summer operations at the ski resort.

Visitors from Denver can still reach Arapahoe Basin by driving to Silverthorne, getting on U.S. 6, and then going past Keystone.

If you want to continue skiing in Colorado, consider heading to Copper Mountain (or think about the backcountry). The ski resort concluded its usual lift-accessed operations in May, but this month has opened a summer hike park where freestyle fans can hike a few rails, slide real snow, and keep the season going on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays.

Beyond that, the North American ski season, at least for most people, is over. Mammoth Mountain, California, and Beartooth Basin, Wyoming, also closed on June 15, 2025. Timberline Lodge, Oregon, meanwhile, will remain open deep into the summer.
