Utah Dog Plunges Through Feet Of Deep Powder

Brighton got 29 inches in the last week, with 314 inches this season to date. But they're far from the only resort with an impressive amount of snow. 

Deer Valley got an inch in the last 3 days, with 225 inches so far this season. 

Alta is at 378 inches this season, and there's more on the way: there is 11 inches expected to come down in a blizzard this Thursday. 

Alta has already seen 82.5 inches of snow this month. 

Beaver Mountain is at a season total of 168 inches, with a base depth of 58 inches. Beaver is expecting snow to start rolling in Wednesday night into Thursday morning. 

Brian Head has 72/72 trails open due to their receiving 5 inches in the last 72 hours, a base depth of 69 inches, and 175 inches so far this season. 

Park City saw 28 inches of snow in the last week, with a season total of 239 inches so far this winter. 

PowMow (aka Powder Mountain, but come on, PowMow is way more fun!) also has all of their trails open, with a base of 74 inches and 18 inches falling in the last week. 

Snowbird has a base depth of 95 inches, with 339 inches of snowfall to date.

Solitude has an 89 inch base and a season total of 295 inches.  

Sundance has 183 inches this year to date, and a base of 75 inches. 

Basically, no matter where you're skiing in Utah, you're probably scoring. And if you're a dog, you're probably scoring some nice pow-bounds (it's like a pow turn when your paws go so deep they get buried). 

When I was a kid, I worked in a boutique dog shop in Maine, and they make snow booties just for dogs when their paws get cold. We put some on my dog once during a sub-zero weekend at Sugarloaf, and watching him bound down the Snubber trail with the little boots on was quite a sight.
