Washington Ski Area Offers $30 Night Skiing

The above photo, unfortunately, are from the resort's last big storm, and are not recent as many viewers hoped. However, the forecast for next week has potential. 

The Northwest Avalanche Center predicts there will not be snowfall the rest of today, but NOAA forecasts snowfall starting Saturday. 

The chance of precipitation for Snoqualmie Pass is 60% on Saturday night, rising to 90% on Sunday. Sunday night and Monday are both predicted to see heavy snowfall. 

The best part is this storm is predicted to fall gradually in temperature as it progresses, improving the snow quality as the days go on. 

The snow reporter's conditions report for today at the resort reads, "Yesterday's wet precipitation has softened things up nicely and it looks like the sun is going to try and make a full appearance by midday."

"You'll find snow conditions clearly elevation influenced with yesterday's snow levels migrating between 3300' and 4000'. At the base areas, expect enjoyable slushy snow with a dense consistency. In the higher elevations you'll find an increasing amount of new snow, with totals around 6" over the last two days. In the mid elevations you'll encounter a variety of conditions including some sticky snow and possibly some firmer spots that might've formed overnight."

"With this soft snow expect the groomed runs to get tracked quickly. Thankfully, Summit West opens today at 2:00 so you'll have two chances at first tracks."

Regarding the night skiing, officials at the resort say, "If you’ve never ridden at night before, or you’ve got a buddy interested in giving snow sports a try, there’s no better time to give it a shot. No code needed, just head to our store or click the link in our bio." We can all respect a resort making it easy for people to get their turns in.

With the weather forecast in mind, next Thursday (and Thursday night, of course) has the potential to be excellent.
