In an ode to the Arctic North, Mission Ridge Ski Area, Washington, is offering a rentable Igloo on its slopes near the Midway Lodge this season.

The igloo costs $400 to rent for an hour and includes a bartender, appetizers for up to 20 people, and one drink ticket per person.

At face value, that's a steep price—steeper than I'd assume a rentable igloo costs—but more reasonable when you consider splitting the cost between 20 friends. That's $20 per person. There are few novelties I wouldn't try at least once for that price.

Here's a tour of the igloo. Note: this video was filmed last season, so the igloo's architecture may have changed slightly.

King 5 reports that Mission Ridge started the igloo tradition last winter, joining the resort's other funky landmark: a World War II-era bomber wing at the top of the aptly named Bomber Bowl.

The wing was pulled from the wreckage of a B-24 "Liberator" Heavy Bomber, which crashed on Wenatchee Mountain in 1944 during a training run. Legend has it that the wing brings continued snowfall to Mission Ridge.

But that's enough plane talk. If you're aviation-obsessed, you're probably in the wrong place—instead, you might want to pick up a copy of Plane & Pilot or watch an episode of Masters of the Air. Either of those options will do you better than POWDER.

And to those hung up on the idea of chilling (I'm sorry) out in an igloo at Mission Ridge, here are more details.
