Casey Willax has joined the Dang Shades team.

The snowboarder-owned sunglasses and goggles company made the announcement in an email blast on May 6, 2025.

“Few people show up for a warehouse tour without shoes and shades, but we wouldn't expect anything less from Casey,” the email said.

Willax is a YouTuber, a content creator, and a self-described semi-professional snowboarder. He has a pro model board with Lago Snowboards, and co-hosts a podcast called You Love to Hear It. Known best for bridging the gap between the world of professional riders and the common snowboarder, Willax has developed a cult following that’s resulted in 124,000 subscribers on YouTube.

His video – released on May 5, 2025 – titled Torstein Horgmo Brought Me Into the Colorado Backcountry, had more than 5,000 views in just 24 hours. Tap or click to watch below.

Dang Shades was started by Chris Beresford in Southwick, Massachusetts. What started as a bootleg operation out of the trunk of Beresford’s car at Mount Hood developed into a full-fledged operation that provides affordable eyewear to customers and sponsor support to up-and-coming riders.

“Believing that everyone should have access to fashionable eyewear without compromising on quality, the brand prioritizes affordability and excellence in design. Their dedication to crafting durable and trendsetting sunglasses, while also providing essential UV protection for the eyes, has earned Dang Shades a devoted following,” the company’s website says. “With meticulous attention to detail, they curate a diverse range of eyewear options to cater to different styles and preferences.”

Some of the most core riders in the world are members of the Dang gang. X Games winners Pat Fava and Nate Haust, Joey Fava, Denver Orr, Madison Blackley, Jeff Holce, Mike Liddle, and Melissa Riitano all ride for Beresford’s company. Egan Wint, Kaden Rusinko, and Jaylen Hanson are all on the amateur team. The brand has even forayed into skateboarding and mountain biking, with team members Canyon Jones and Greg Sanocki.

In the name of true transparency, I'm a Dang Shades devotee. Of course I love the fact that the brand is rider-owned, and it surely doesn't hurt that Beresford is a native Masshole, like myself. The glasses and goggles are quality, though, and offer a level of durability needed for action sports that just doesn't come with other discount sunglasses brands.
