Mia Brookes is a lot of things. Metalhead. X Games gold medalist. Britain's Young Sportswoman of the Year.

Now, add pro snowboarder to that list.

Brookes is now pro for Capita. It's news worthy of confetti cannons.

The elevation from amateur to pro comes just ahead of the 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympics, where Brookes will likely compete for Great Britain. She is fresh off of an electric season. Starting in August, Brookes competed in five FIS slopestyle contests. She also won bronze at the X Games in February. Brookes was dubbed the winner of the overall park and pipe Crystal Globe. It was her second Globe of the season, as she already took home the Crystal Globe for women’s snowboard big air.

In all, Brookes earned seven podiums across eight FIS World Cup starts. Vans honored Brookes with her own pro model boot, dubbed the Encore Pro. That dropped back in July.

The Encore Pro is a women-specific boot built for an all-mountain rider that features a BOA system, an UltraCush Smartwool liner and a Popcush footbed. After several hours of use, the boot is designed to mold to the rider’s foot. It’s an ideal boot for a rider who – like Brookes – likes to try it all. Brookes competed in four different disciplines at the 2025 X Games in Aspen.

Brookes took home Torment's Rider of the Year honor back in 2024 after taking home her first X Games gold medal, a Dew Tour gold medal, and a World Championships gold medal.

It's not the typical outcome for a rider that was born in England. She grew up riding at Kidsgrove Ski Centre in Stoke. Her only experience riding bigger terrain was during family trips to France and Switzerland, which eventually turned into full seasons. The result? Brookes has become a bit of a style icon at just 18 years old, constantly progressing.

“It’s something I’ve thought about a lot—I like women’s snowboarding right now,” Brookes said to Forbes' Michelle Bruton back in January. “The tricks are big enough to look cool but also small enough to add your own style to it, add a bit of an extra tweak to the grab or something."
