18 G/A Bayern Munich star set to snub Tottenham for arch rivals

Tottenham are looking to add attacking reinforcements in the summer. The Lilywhites face the prospect of losing key players once the season ends after enduring a tough campaign. With Richarlison heading for the exit doors and Mathys Tel’s future remaining uncertain, Daniel Levy will look to bring in a replacement quickly.

It was reported earlier that Spurs were interested in signing Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich. The Germany international has enjoyed a successful stint at Bayern Munich. But contract extension talks with the Bundesliga giants have come to a standstill and it now looks like the 29-year-old might head for pastures new in the summer.

However, Tottenham have suffered a massive blow in their pursuit of the Bayern Munich forward. As per Teamtalk, Leroy Sane is all set to snub Spurs’ approach in the summer as he prefers a move to Arsenal or Chelsea. The German winger believes both clubs will fight for the Premier League title next year and a place in the Champions. League.

Daniel Levy will now need to shift his focus on other players as Tottenham look to shuffle their squad for next season. The Lilywhites are also linked with a move for Liverpool outcast Federico Chiesa as a backup option. Spurs see the Italy international as a perfect cover for Brennan Johnson and believe that he would provide the much-needed experience in the attacking line.

It is fair to say that Leroy Sane would fit in perfectly for Tottenham. The German winger has Premier League experience, as he was part of the title-winning Manchester City side before making a switch to Bayern Munich. Sane is also direct and likes to shoot from distance. His ability to dribble past defenders and create chances for his teammates would also prove to be beneficial for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

However, signing the 29-year-old would have displaced Brennan Johnson’s spot in the starting eleven. The Welshman has been a standout player for Spurs this season. But the arrival of Leroy Sane would see Johnson compete with the German winger for the right-wing spot.  Both would provide different dynamics to the team, which would have been ideal for Ange Postecoglou.
