This past week saw all teams in action for seven games in total played. Angel City had the largest crowd with 19,103. Chicago once again had the smallest crowd with only 3,872. Overall, the league’s average dropped again, now down to 10,697. Currently, the NWSL’s 2024 average is down by 172 based on last year’s final average.
The same four teams remain below their 2023 final averages (Chicago, San Diego, Portland, and Seattle). However, Racing Louisville, Gotham FC, and the Washington Spirit are all well ahead of the 2023 averages.
Capacity numbers are provided by each team’s individual stadium’s website. Also reported are each team’s individual high and low games for the season. Finally, all attendance numbers are provided through the ESPN box scores and @NwslNotes on Twitter.
The upcoming week will see the NWSL on a hiatus due to the FIFA international window running from May 27 through June 4. The league will resume play on Friday, June 7 with Houston at Louisville and Orlando at San Diego. The featured game of the week will be Angel City FC taking on Gotham FC in Harrison, NJ on Saturday, June 8 (12:30 pm on CBS).
