There have been 29 Premier League Matchdays played in the 2025/26 season, so now is a perfect time to reset everything and take another look at the Team of the Season thus far.

GK Gianluigi Donnarumma, Manchester City

To be honest, it has been a weaker year for Premier League goalkeepers, especially with Liverpool superstar Alisson Becker struggling, but newcomer Gianluigi Donnarumma has maintained his reputation as one of the world’s best. His pure shot stopping has been a major upgrade for the Citizens, and he currently ranks third in save percentage while being among the league leaders in clean sheets and fewest goals allowed.

LB Lewis Hall, Newcastle

Lewis Hall had a tense battle with Manchester City‘s own phenom Nico O’Reilly, but ultimately Hall got the nod for his superior ball progression numbers with nearly three combined dribbles completed and fouls drawn on the 2025/26 Premier League season.

CB Gabriel Magalhaes, Arsenal

You won’t find an easier nod at the center back positoin than Gabriel Magalhaes, who, quite frankly, should be getting just as much Premier League Player of the Season love as midfield teammate Declan Rice. Gabriel has been beyond shutdown this season, scarcely needing to make interventions defensively.

CB Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool

The same can be said yet again about the ageless wonder Virgil van Dijk, who looks like he could go at a world class level for about another 10 years or so. Van Dijk has been keeping an otherwise poor Liverpool defense afloat, and he honestly deserves more praise for the fact that nobody can get around him.

RB Jurrien Timber, Arsenal

In general, the right back position is a scarce one to find quality, but it feels like the 2025/26 Premier League is especially low on right backs. It’s a good thing for Arsenal, then, they have unearthed a gem in Timber, who is ont only the best defensive fullback in Europe right now, but he is also on three goals and five assists.

CM Declan Rice, Arsenal

Declan Rice has become one of the best deep lying playmakers in European football and a human metronome for Arsenal. He has usurped Martin Odegaard as the team’s beating heart, totaling nine goal contributions with roughly two key passes per game while continuing to play great screening defense for his team.

CM Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle

With nine goals and four assists, Bruno Guimaraes is contributing to goals in addition to providing the best box to box midfield play in the Premier League when combining both ball winning and progression. Bruno does it all at an elite level for the Magpies, and it says something that he kept Elliot Anderson off this team.

AM Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes has 14 assists this season and is going to run away with the assists crown. Even Ruben Amorim could not drag down his numbers, as Fernandes is only getting better and better with age. He is the perfect leader and creator for a Man United side that suddenly looks very dangerous under Michael Carrick.

LW Antoine Semenyo, Manchester City

The left wing position is the thinnest in the Premier League, and it is to the point where you could make a case that Arsenal’s rotational man Leandro Trossard or Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike would be Antoine Semenyo’s strongest competition. As it stands, Semenyo is by far the best left winger in the Premier League, though that is not necessarily even his position right now for Man City.

ST Erling Haaland, Manchester City

Erling Haaland has scored a whopping 22 goals to lead the Premier League this season and has also quietly added 7 assists, improving his chance creation in tight spaces to what we saw at Borussia Dortmund. He is by far the best striker in the league. There is no discussion.

RW Bukayo Saka, Arsenal

Arsenal round out their dominance of the Premier League Team of the Season with a deserved nod for Bukayo Saka, who is the brightest shining light at a pretty thin right wing position around the league. Unlike his attacking teammates, Saka is a beacon of consistency, and because his game is so based around creation and efficient dribbling, he’d actually be posting way better numbers with one more true superstar alongside him.
