As the end of the season approaches, cup competitions are beginning to be decided across the world.
For Manchester United, however, this is not the case having being knocked out of the Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup at early stages whilst also no longer being in a position to challenge for the Premier League, which was won by Arsenal earlier this week.
Former Manchester United players, and players who are out on loan away from Old Trafford, continue to succeed, however.
Andre Onana is one of these with him recently winning the Turkish Cup with Trabzonspor, his first trophy with the club.
Marcus Rashford, too, has succeeded out on loan with him winning LaLiga with Barcelona, putting him in a strong position as the club consider his future.
Now, Ona Batlle (who played for Manchester United’s women’s side) has won the Women’s Champions League with Barcelona having beat OL Lyonnes in the final.
Ewa Pajor starred, scoring two goals in the second half to push Barcelona towards the title before Salma Paralluelo scored a brace in the closing stages of the game to give the team a 4-0 victory.
The defender has made 112 appearances for Barca since leaving Manchester United in 2023.
In her time at the Red Devils, the Spanish international made 75 appearances, scoring three times, having previously been at Levante, Madrid CFF, and Barcelona.
This is not the first time that Batlle has won the Women’s Champions League with Barcelona, though, having previously won the prestigious tournament during the 2023-24 campaign.
Alongside her success in Europe this season, Ona Batlle has also succeeded domestically having won the Liga F in a side that lost just once in 28 games.
Focus may now switch towards celebrating this achievement, but may also be directed at preparing for upcoming international games against both England, where she could reunite with former teammates, and Iceland.
