Manchester United’s players have often found the spotlight for events on the pitch.
However, three current members of the squad have now made headlines for entirely different reasons.
The club has already seen disciplinary matters attract attention in recent months.
We previously covered how Leny Yoro was handed a six-month driving ban after a speeding incident in Manchester.
The moment served as a reminder of the scrutiny Premier League footballers face away from football.
Harry Maguire has also dealt with driving-related issues before.
Back in 2024, we reported that the defender had pleaded guilty to a speeding offence.
Maguire received a fine after being caught exceeding the speed limit.
Now, according to Sky News, Maguire is one of three United players who have been prosecuted following separate incidents last year.
The report states that Harry Maguire, Altay Bayindir and Matheus Cunha have all faced legal proceedings over driving offences.
Maguire was fined £1,000 after admitting to driving at 37mph in a 30mph zone in Altrincham.
The England defender pleaded guilty in writing and apologised to the court.
The 33-year-old explained that he mistakenly believed he was in a 40mph area.
Bayindir was also prosecuted after being caught driving at 41mph in a 30mph limit in Hale Barns.
The Turkish international admitted the offence and was fined £666, while also receiving three penalty points.
Meanwhile, Sky News reports that Matheus Cunha has been charged with both speeding and failing to respond to police requests to identify the driver of a vehicle.
A Mercedes registered in the Brazilian’s name was allegedly recorded travelling at 37mph in a 30mph zone.
Unlike Maguire and Bayindir, Cunha has not yet entered any pleas and is due to face a court hearing later this year.
All three cases were deal with away from the football pitch.
However, once again they highlight the attention that follows Manchester United players both on and off the field.
