Injury expert feels AS Roma defender Evan Ndicka to pass Tottenham medical without any concerns

Tottenham Hotspur have been slow movers in the summer transfer market.

Spurs are already playing catch-up with their rivals in the transfer market, so Daniel Levy must accelerate the plans to bring in quality players to North London and build on last month’s Europa League success.

There is a clear need to strengthen the defensive ranks after last campaign’s problems with injuries, lack of depth and inconsistency. The North London club have to make the acquisition of quality defender a priority, and it looks like they want to raid the Serie A market for the same.

Spurs have already made enquiries for AS Roma centre-back Evan Ndicka, who is valued at around  €40 million. Manchester United are also interested in the Frenchman after his excellent showings at the back last season in Serie A.

Evan Ndicka was rock-solid in defence for AS Roma, playing every single minute across 38 league games. Keeping that in mind, Dr Rajpal Brar has greenlighted Tottenham’s move for the 25-year-old. The injury expert feels the Paris-born star will clear his medical without any issues should Tottenham agree a fee with Roma.

“He played every league game last season and even otherwise, his injury record is perfect,” Dr Rajpal Brar exclusively told Tottenham News.

“While adapting to a new league would take some time, he’s expected to clear his medical without any issues.

“A good pre-season will be key for him to be ready to play full matches from the start of the new season.”

With Cristian Romero heading for a potential exit in the summer, Levy must sign a quality replacement that could become the pillar of strength at the back for Thomas Frank’s side. Ndicka, in that regard, could be that player as he has the required attributes to thrive in the hustle and bustle of Premier League football.

The France defender spent five strong seasons with Eintracht Frankfurt, racking up over 180 appearances. He moved to Roma in 2023 and has played 85 times across two campaigns, demonstrating his peak physical levels and robustness. After an injury-ravaged season, Spurs would be desperate to have a player of Ndicka’s fitness levels and reliability in their squad.

For around €40 million, Tottenham would do an excellent job by landing Ndicka from Roma. At 25, the ex-Frankfurt man certainly has his best years ahead of him, and he could become the new leader in defence for Spurs from next term. Plus, his 10 goals and 12 assists for former club Frankfurt show the defender’s potency from set-pieces, which would be something of a bonus to Frank’s side.
