Manchester United have seen a remarkable shift in form in their goalkeeping department this season, with the rise of Senne Lammens providing the squad with a new sense of stability.

The Belgian keeper has impressed since arriving, keeping multiple clean sheets and showing maturity beyond his years.

This has allowed the Red Devils to strengthen at the back, giving manager Michael Carrick confidence in a position that had been inconsistent last season.

United are assessing their options as they look to secure a strong squad for the 2026/27 campaign.

For Altay Bayindir, however, opportunities have been few and far between.

The 26-year-old started the season as Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper but struggled in the early months, leading to Senne Lammens taking over the number one role.

Manchester United and Besiktas have now finalised terms for the transfer of Altay Bayindir, with the deal valued at £4.36m, as reported by Turkish outlet Fanatik.

The goalkeeper is set to move to the Turkish side once the transfer window officially opens.

The Turkey international was originally signed from Fenerbahce in 2023 for £4.3m as a second goalkeeper option, meaning the Red Devils could recoup their full investment three years later.

Since his move to Old Trafford, Bayindir has made 17 appearances for the club, keeping three clean sheets, but has been unable to cement a consistent starting role.

His departure would free up space in the squad while Lammens continues to stake his claim as United’s future No. 1.

Besiktas, who have long been tracking the goalkeeper, are keen to bring him to the Turkish Super Lig as soon as possible, offering him a chance to re-establish himself as a first-choice keeper.

With United willing to let him go and the Turkish side ready to meet terms, it seems the move is set to be one of the first confirmed transfers of the summer for the Red Devils.
