Lazio midfielder Nicolo Rovella is the favourite to replace Hakan Calhanoglu in the event that he leaves Inter Milan this summer.
This according to Italian outlet Gazzetta.it. They note that the 23-year-old is a boyhood Nerazzurri fan, and has a release clause worth €50 million.
Inter Milan are seriously considering the possibility that Hakan Calhanoglu could leave the club this summer.
Turkish giants Galatasaray have reportedly made Calhanoglu a major target.
Furthermore, big clubs in the Saudi Pro League are also eyeing up a move for the Turkish international.
Inter Milan are far from unwilling to sell Hakan Calhanoglu this summer.
However, the Nerazzurri would certainly have to replace the Turkish international.
And there is one name that has come up as a possible replacement.
Lazio midfielder Nicolo Rovella has a similar profile to Calhanoglu. And he has grown significantly over the last few seasons with the Biancocelesti and Monza.
Moreover, as the Gazzetta note, Rovella grew up near the city of Milan. He grew up in a family of Inter supporters.
The Italian was also a part of a youth academy affiliated with Inter. However, after a trial he did not become a part of the senior team.
The Gazzetta report, however, that Lazio have no intention of letting Rovella leave. Therefore, Inter would have to pay his €50 million release clause.
