€60m Heist? Manchester United want underutilised Real Madrid star

Manchester United want Real Madrid star Arda Guler, hoping to take advantage of his peculiar situation at the Spanish club. Guler has emerged as one of the most promising attackers in recent seasons yet struggles to play regularly at Real.

The 20-year-old joined the Spanish giant in the summer of 2023 but continues to play as a senior squad player. Nevertheless, Guler has established himself at the international level for Turkey quickly and plays as a key player for them.

Meanwhile, United lack an attacking threat and needs to make changes next summer, recruiting players that fit Ruben Amorim’s profile. The Red Devils are currently 14^th in the Premier League table, well below their standards as a top English club.

According to Fichajes, United are ready to table a €60 million bid to sign Guler from Madrid during the summer. Real are well stacked in their attacking department which makes it hard for Guler to establish himself as a starter.

Guler has featured in 34 games for Real in all competitions this season, contributing with three goals and seven assists. However, the 20-year-old has only started in 12 of those games throughout the current season which shows his perennial struggle.

The Red Devils are facing financial restrictions despite their desire to recruit players according to Amorim’s requirements at the club. While Guler fits the profile that United desires, signing him is a daunting task due to the numerous factors.

One of those factors is the considerable struggle that United are facing as a team, which could demotivate any available option. Furthermore, if Real opts to sell Guler during the summer, the situation could attract competitive rivals as the attacking midfielder has a good reputation in Europe already.

Nevertheless, the 20-year-old is exactly the kind of player that United should target during the summer. Guler’s close control, technical abilities and creativity along with versatility make him a player capable of making an instant impact.
