FC Barcelona continue their pre-season preparation even as there are a few more days to go before the squad under Hansi Flick departs on their Asian tour. The German coach is likely to be happy with the fact that he is able to work with the entire roster as he builds up to the 2025/26 season.
The 2024/25 season was special for Barcelona, who secured the domestic treble and also managed to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. Going forward, the German coach will be keen to build on the foundation and go one step further.
Hansi Flick’s first major signing as Barcelona manager was talented Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo, who he signed from RB Leipzig. The 27-year-old had a mixed first season back at the club, mostly due to registration issues and injuries.

Injuries have been Olmo’s biggest curse in his career. Every time he manages to take the field, he looks like a million dollars but he has been unable to showcase the same over the course of an entire season. This has prevented him from becoming as integral as a player of his talent should be.
Now, as per Spanish outlet SPORT, Dani Olmo aims to establish himself as a key player for Hansi Flick this season. The €60m-rated star hopes that his injury issues are a thing of the past and that he can become more fundamental in the upcoming campaign.
One of Olmo’s biggest advantages is his versatility and his ability to play multiple roles within the same system. There aren’t many players in the world who are better than him in influencing a game by playing inbetween the lines.
The 27-year-old is growing on the personal front as well. He has renewed his contract with Adidas, making him one of the brand’s main faces and he has also launched his own personal brand inspired by his goal celebration – ‘Olmo Time’.
Maybe this is a sign. This could be an indication that the upcoming season is indeed going to be ‘Olmo Time’ on the pitch for Barcelona. For a player as talented as the 27-year-old, a big season is just around the corner. It remains to be seen how things play out for the Spaniard in the upcoming months.
