Tottenham are languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table

Tottenham Hotspur have just not been good enough this season. The Lilywhites have struggled to carve out positive results domestically. Ange Postecoglou’s men sit 17 th in the Premier League table and they are well on their way to record the club’s lowest ever points tally in a single Premier league season. The performances on the pitch have not been promising either, and that has frustrated the fans.

A club of Tottenham’s stature should not be anywhere near the bottom half of the league table. The North London club’s saving grace this season has been the Europa league. Spurs have reached the Europa League final and have the chance of ending a 17-year long wait for a major trophy. Winning the competition would also ensure Champions League football for next season.

The results in the Premier League speak for itself. The Lilywhites have just written the domestic campaign off so that they could focus on the Europa League. Ange’s men have recorded 20 losses in the league and there are still two games remaining. It is highly unlikely that the results will improve as Spurs take on Aston Villa next on Friday night.

Jason Cundy goes all in to slam Tottenham

Tottenham have not yet reached the 40-point mark in the Premier League this season. In an ideal scenario, a manager gets sacked if the results are just not improving. But Daniel Levy has decided to give Ange Postecoglou a chance to finish the campaign as Spurs are still fighting hard in the Europa League. It was reported earlier that Levy would sack Big Ange at the end of the season, regardless of the outcome in the Europa League final.

Now, Jason Cundy has slammed the Lilywhites for their disastrous campaign. Speaking on talkSPORT, Cundy said,

“Tottenham are the worst team in Premier League history thus far, not to go down. They are a disgrace! You think I’m joking? They are an absolute shambles of a team. This time last year, they wanted to lose a game [against Manchester City]. This time this year, Spurs don’t care whether they win.”

The pundit added,

“Mate, this is not life in the Premier League. Tottenham are the rag and bone, mate. They are the worst team this season, currently, in the Premier League, other than the three teams that went down. A disgrace!”

Jason Cundy did not mince his words while describing Tottenham’s season. The pundit suggested Spurs are the worst team to not get relegated in Premier League history and they do not care about the results in the league. Cundy also insisted that Tottenham are a ‘disgrace’ and they have written the Premier League campaign off to focus on the Europa League this season.

The Lilywhites now take on Manchester United in the Europa League final. A win against the Red Devils, and all will be forgiven by the Spurs fans for their disastrous domestic campaign. It is likely that the end of the road is near for Big Ange and he will be sacked as soon as the season gets over. Daniel Levy has already shortlisted a few options to replace the Australian at the helm.

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner and Fulham manager Marco Silva lead the line to take charge at N17 next season. Fans will hope that the right decision is taken by Levy as a massive squad shuffle is also need in the summer. Spurs will need to bring in new players if they want to close the gap on their rivals next season.
