Veteran Inter defender Francesco Acerbi is expected to get the nod against Bayern Munich tomorrow, setting up an exciting challenge with Harry Kane after nullifying Erling Haaland twice.

Inter are preparing to visit Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday, and coach Simone Inzaghi is expected to rely on experienced centre-back Acerbi.

The 37-year-old played the full 90 minutes in a 2-2 draw against Parma on Saturday, but is still expected to start at the Allianz Arena tomorrow, as reported by Gazzetta.

Acerbi set for Kane challenge after nullifying Haaland

Acerbi has a solid record against some of the best strikers in Italy and Europe in recent years.

Acerbi already nullified Manchester City star Haaland in the last two meetings between the Nerazzurri and the Premier League giants.

Furthermore, Romelu Lukaku, Moise Kean, and Mateo Retegui failed to score against Acerbi’s Inter in the current campaign, proving the defender’s reliability against big opponents.

Retegui is the current Serie A leading scorer with 22 goals, followed by Fiorentina’s Kean with 17.

The latter scored twice against Inter in Fiorentina’s 3-0 win at the Stadio Franchi in February, but Acerbi spent the whole game on the bench.

Four days later, the Nerazzurri secured a 2-1 win with Acerbi on the field, conceding a penalty kick goal from Rolando Mandragora.

Kane, 31, has a terrific record this season, scoring 34 goals in 39 games in all competitions with Bayern Munich.
