Actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are superheroes in the eyes of one set of club supporters.
On Monday, the RR McReynolds Co. headed by the pair was approved to take 100% control of Welsh club Wrexham AFC. The side currently competes in England's fifth tier of the country's football pyramid.
The transaction is subject to final approval and confirmation from the National League and Football Association of Wales. No setbacks are expected ahead of the deal's completion.
Wrexham shared a video featuring the two.

The Wrexham Supporters Trust Board would like to thank Mr. Rob McElhenney and Mr. Ryan Reynolds, and their advisors Inner Circle Sports and Walker Morris, for their professional and considered approach and for the time they have already put into the process, the club explained in an official statement.
As Wrexham supporters, we would like to wish them the very best of luck in charge of our Football Club and look forward to what the future brings.
Reynolds and McElhenney were first officially linked with the club back in September, and their takeover occurs as lower league football teams around the world continue to suffer heavy financial losses and face possible demises because of the COVID-19 pandemic. ESPN's Mark Ogden wrote that the two intend on injecting £2 million into club operations.
Wrexham were relegated from the English Football League in 2008 and haven't returned to the fourth tier since. They currently sit 14th out of 23 in the National League table.
