AC Milan scored four goals and secured a first leg advantage last night against Slavia Praha, but Yacine Adli has admitted that the team cannot be entirely happy.

Milan came out on top in a rollercoaster game at San Siro last night in the first leg of their last 16 tie against Slavia, eventually winning 4-2 but with plenty of scares along the way.

A red card for Diouf before the half-hour mark turned the game a bit, then Olivier Giroud found the opener, but Doudera’s equaliser stunned the San Siro crowd.

Tijjani Reijnders and Ruben Loftus-Cheek struck in quick succession before the interval to give the Rossoneri a 3-1 lead at the break and that calmed the nerves, but then Schranz got one back for the away side.

Christian Pulisic’s late tap-in restored the two-goal advantage, yet when the full-time whistle went there was an absence of cheers that spoke volumes.

Adli spoke to Milan TV after the full-time whistle to give his take on what was an entertaining but frustrating game in equal measure, with MilanNews transcribing him comments.

Your thoughts on the win?

“We wanted to score another goal, the match gave us the opportunity with the extra man, we wanted to score as many as possible. We are two more up, the match will be tough there, we have to show mentality. Whoever has more balls will win.”

What difficulties did you encounter today?

“Scoring is complicated in football, we scored four but the two goals we conceded remain a bit of an obstacle for us, we have to go there and close the game.”

What attitude will you have to show?

“We need strength, vigour… when I go on the pitch I give everything I have, with this club it must always be like this.”
