The agent of Filippo Terracciano has revealed that his client was actually close to joining another team before he ended up at AC Milan in January.

Milan’s interest in Terracciano seemed to come out of nowhere early in January given that no links had really emerged in the weeks prior, and the deal then moved very quickly towards completion.

The club’s official website announced that the full-back had put pen to paper on a contract with Milan that will run until 2028, therefore a four-and-a-half-year deal, joining from cash-strapped Verona.

After the error that led to the penalty kick awarded to Bologna, Terracciano has not since played in the league, remaining as an unused substitute in the games that followed. He has however had some Europa League minutes.

Now, his agent Andrea D’Amico has spoken to Radio Bruno (via PianetaMilan) and he confirmed that Milan were not the only team who came in for his client.

“He was very close to Fiorentina. I had to tell a couple of lies in the media. But it was really very close. Verona, however, was already too far ahead in the talks with Milan. But I guarantee you that it was really one step away.”
