The agent of Lautaro Martinez insists he and his client are only in talks with Inter Milan at the moment despite having admirers in Europe.

The Argentine has been plying his trade at San Siro since 2018. He has now established himself as the club’s ultimate talisman.

He also inherited the captain’s armband last summer following the departure of Samir Handanovic.

But while his agent Alejandro Camano has been negotiating a new deal with the club for several months, the two parties have yet to reach a final agreement.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly offering a net salary of 9 million euros per season, On the other hand, the striker is holding out for 10M.

Nevertheless, all parties have been repeatedly reiterating their desire to prolong their collaboration.

For his part, Camano assures that he hasn’t been discussing a possible move for Lautaro with any other club.

We are talking about an Inter player and we have total respect for the Nerazzurri.” said the Spaniard in his interview with TV Play via FcInter1908.

“I haven’t spoken to any other team about his future and I don’t intend to. I’m only talking to Inter about a possible extension even though Lautaro still has two years left on his current contract with the club.

“It’s logical that a star like him has other suitors, but I’m only talking to Inter.”

The agent also denied the astronomical figures mentioned in the press regarding wage demands.

“Obviously, I only discuss this topic with Inter. In the media, there is talk of 12 million, or even 14 but, I repeat, these are issues that concern Lautaro and the club.

“Furthermore, they are numbers that don’t exist.

“Why do we have to talk about this? Let’s talk about the love he bears for Inter. The fans must know that Lautaro loves Milan and the club dearly.”

Finally, Camano seemed unconcerned about Inter’s recent change of ownership, with Oaktree taking over from Suning.

“I’m always in contact with Inter, and we will meet again soon. The fans can rest assured because Lautaro loves this team.

“Obviously, we need to understand what the new owners think of Lautaro.

“Now he’s thinking about the Copa America with Argentina, he wants to do well.”
