Alasdair Gold has suggested that Spurs should explore a player-plus-cash deal using Bryan Gil to sign one of the players they have been recently linked with.

Tottenham is actively pursuing Genoa’s Radu Dragusin, with recent developments showing that the club has had an offer accepted.

However, Bayern Munich’s late bid has also been accepted, leaving the decision in the hands of the player. Nevertheless, Spurs remain optimistic about securing his signature.

Meanwhile, Spurs in recent days have also been linked with a move for Sevilla centre-back Loic Bade.

It was reported by journalist Gonzalo Tortosa that Tottenham want the Frenchman this January window and an offer will be made to Sevilla in the coming days.

Another report from El Mira claimed that Spurs are now the ‘great favourite’ to sign him this month.

Bade’s signing, however, comes with a considerable price tag, with reports stating his release clause is around €55m, but Sevilla might entertain offers closer to €35m.

This might pose a financial challenge for Spurs, who are hoping to bring in several players this window to bolster their depleted squad.

But Tottenham expert Alasdair Gold has suggested exploring the possibility of involving Bryan Gil in a swap deal to secure the highly-rated center-back.

Gold discussed this prospect on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, considering Gil’s limited game time, especially with the recent arrival of Timo Werner, which might further restrict his minutes.

Speaking on the podcast, he said:

“When I saw the Loic Bade stuff, I immediately thought ‘oh does that mean that Bryan Gil can go there and they sort something out?’ I do worry for Bryan Gil in terms of game-time, with Werner coming in on his more favoured time as well, that game-time will dry up as well.”

TBH Says:

Bryan GIl had a great loan spell at Sevilla last season and would be keen to return to his former club. If the Spanish side is keen on a deal, this would actually be an extremely smart deal for Tottenham.
