Samu Omorodion admits his move to Atletico Madrid was a blur.
The new Spain U21 striker scored for Granada against Atletico in August before signing for the Madrid club and then being loaned to Alaves.
He told AS: "I played against them on a Monday and on Tuesday they told me that they wanted me and the next everything was closed. It was very fast. They tell me and I don't believe it. But if it happened like that it's because it had to happen. I was quite calm because I knew it was a unique opportunity.
"I couldn't train much with them either. The few days I was there I couldn't believe it because two months before I saw them on TV and I thought: 'I wish one day I could play with them.' I tried to absorb everything I could."
On Atletico coach Diego Simone, Samu added: "I couldn't talk much, but when I spoke with him he gave me confidence, he told me that if I was there it was for a reason and that now I had to show why I had come there."
Simeone has since likened Samu to Diego Costa and the youngster also said: "Being compared to a player who has made history at Atleti is always appreciated, but I am Samu, and I want to write my own story."
