Albania is second in the group with 14 points and will play in the World Cup qualifying playoffs, securing their second place with a game in hand. They are above Serbia, which is third with 10 points.

In their previous match, Albania defeated Andorra 1-0 with a goal from Kristjan Asllani. The win secured their spot in the next round of the World Cup qualifiers in Europe as Serbia lost to England.
