Alejandro Balde has just finished his fifth season in Barcelona’s first team, making 42 appearances as the club won the LaLiga title for the third time in four seasons.
The 2025-26 campaign could be his last in a Barcelona shirt, however, as links begin to emerge between the left-back and other clubs.
The 22-year-old received renewed interest from Manchester United earlier this year.
The Red Devils, aiming to strengthen their own squad this summer, are looking towards the left-back position as one that needs recruitment.
Barcelona were previously said to be willing to listen to offers for Balde although later reports claimed that the full-back was seen as an essential part of the project, even if he was not the completed product yet.
Now, amid growing speculation about where the full-back’s future lies, Balde has confirmed his intentions.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Alejandro Balde remains firm in his intentions and continues to prioritize staying at the Spanish giants.
Deportivo also report that the full-back believes that he can still play an important role in the team and that his place is still in Barcelona.
Reports from Spanish outlet Marca claim that Barcelona will make a move for Chelsea full-back and Spanish international Marc Cucurella if Balde does get sold this summer.
With Barcelona already making plans for the full-back’s exit, the 22-year-old future still remains unclear.
Manchester United have been exploring the full-back market leading up to this stage and have even contacted representatives of Lewis Hall, as exclusively revealed by CentreDevils.
It remains to be seen whether a bid for Alejandro Balde will come from Old Trafford in the coming weeks.
United currently have a range of options in the left-back position including Luke Shaw and Diego Leon, who signed for the club during last summer’s transfer window.
