Thursday night’s Serie A clash between Milan and Genoa is a special one for Massimiliano Allegri, who marks his 200th competitive match in charge of the Rossoneri in San Siro.
Milan host Genoa in the final match of the 19th round of Serie A fixtures on Thursday night. You can follow the action as it unfolds on the Football Italia Liveblog.
Allegri, who first took charge of Milan in 2010, racked up 178 competitive games in charge during his first stint, which lasted until 2014. Thursday night’s game against Genoa will be Allegri’s 22nd competitive Milan match this season, following his appointment as the successor to Sergio Conceicao in the summer.
So far this term, Allegri has overseen 17 Serie A matches (the 18th coming against Genoa), three in the Coppa Italia and one in the Supercoppa Italiana.
The Rossoneri were knocked out of the Coppa Italia by Lazio at the round of 16 stage, were defeated in the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final against eventual champions Napoli, but are still in the race for the Serie A title.
They are in second place as things stand, and have an opportunity to move three points clear of Napoli in third, and within one point of Inter in first with a victory against Genoa on Thursday night.
