Both teams will compete for a spot in the MLS Cup final, where they will face either Columbus Crew or FC Cincinnati, the other teams that have qualified for the conference finals.

LAFC defeated the Seattle Sounders in the Western semifinals with a score of 1-0, thanks to a goal from Denis Bouanga. The current MLS Cup champions aim to defend their title in the West, reaching the second consecutive major league final.

In the first round, Los Angeles FC emerged victorious against the Vancouver Whitecaps in the third game, securing a 1-0 win in Canada. In the regular season, they finished in the third position in the conference.

The Houston Dynamo reached this stage following a 1-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City in the conference semifinals, courtesy of a goal from Franco Escobar. The fourth seed in the regular season aims to secure their fifth MLS Cup final.

Houston Dynamo defeated Real Salt Lake in the first round thanks to the penalty shootouts in the third match, following each team winning one game and the deadlock persisting in the decisive encounter. The orange team maintains an unbeaten streak of nine matches within the ninety minutes.
