Inter want to retain all their stars next summer, unlike in the previous ones, and have set a sky-high valuation for Alessandro Bastoni, who’s routinely pursued by the top European clubs. Their director Piero Ausilio attended the recent Champions League clash between Manchester City and Real Madrid. Both could be keen on the Italian defender, TuttoSport relays (via CalcioNews24).

The English powerhouse tested the waters a few times in the past. The Nerazzurri always shut the door. They eventually spent €90M for Josko Gvardiol, who has similar characteristics. Therefore, Les Merengues, which will likely add a new center-back in the next window, will be a bigger threat.

On the other hand, Los Blancos would have to empty their coffers to get Bastoni, as Inter demand no less than €80M. The star has never shown any sign of restlessness and is under contract until 2028.

The 25-year-old has continued to improve his game this campaign. In addition to being dependable in the back, he has dished three assists thanks to his passing and forays down the left flank.

Our Take on Inter and Bastoni

The Nerazzurri are reportedly in better financial shape than in the past. They will likely not cash in anybody but Denzel Dumfries, and settle for a low-budget transfer market since they only need touch-ups. He might eventually decide to spread his wings and move to a different league after a long run at the club, but there are no hints it’ll happen anytime soon.
