Manchester United's resurgence: A glimpse of promise at Old Trafford

Manchester United is a team that will always have high expectations, which have not been met so far this season. A string of lackluster performances in the Champions League leaves them bottom of the table with one match left to play.

However, on Wednesday under the floodlights of Old Trafford, something was different in the air. The clash against Chelsea proved as an opportunity to show growth and that it did. Erik ten Hag's squad pulled off a 2-1 victory led by Scott McTominay's brace. It was the best performance by a United side this season.

Ten Hag, often perceived as a tactician, seems to have finally unlocked the secret chamber of motivation within his players that has seemingly gone astray. The synergy and energy on display from each player was something fans have been waiting to see all season.

The young Argentinian, Alejandro Garnacho, epitomizes the newfound spirit with his stunning bicycle kick goal against Everton that was awarded Premier League goal of the month.

Meanwhile, Harry Maguire, who has been under plenty of criticism, has stood as a defensive bulwark. His composure has been instrumental in revitalizing the team's solidity and earned himself Premier League Player of the Month.

Finally, to round out the treble of awards, Ten Hag received Manager of the Month. His strategic genius and belief in the team finally manifested a great performance.

Despite the early season struggles, Manchester United find themselves 6th on the table, only three points behind local rival Manchester City in the top-four race.

With the potential Ten Hag has unlocked, the journey has just begun for the Red Devils as the flame of resurgence burns bright at Old Trafford where they host AFC Bournemouth on Dec. 9.
