Nemanja Matic is at odds with Rennes and has offered his services to a few teams, including Milan. Despite some rumors from France, he’s not close to joining the Rossoneri at least for the time being, Calciomercato informs.

The veteran, who pushed to transfer to Brittany and left Roma abruptly, is eager to depart because the French side isn’t as competitive as he thought. Moreover, his family has struggled to adapt to its new surroundings. He is skipping training and has been lambasted by his side for it. Olympique Lyonnais are reportedly a possible destination.

Milan have been linked to Milan primarily due to the recent departure of Rade Krunic. He left only technically on an initial loan. Fenerbahce will redeem him once they mathematically avoid relegation. The deal will generate €5M profits considering how much they saved on his salary.

The 34-year-old will likely depart gratis if he gets his wish. An intermediary proposed him to Roma, but he received a stern answer given how he departed in the past window.

Our Take on Milan and Matic

They wouldn’t be wrong in signing another option as they aren’t very deep, and he’d be able to play in multiple positions. Yacine Adli turning into a serviceable Ismael Bennacer deputy reduces their need. The Giallorossi could use him but are understandably still irked. It wouldn’t be surprising if Juventus kicked the tires at the end on him at the end of the window if they didn’t find anybody better.
