AC Milan are awaiting communication from Olivier Giroud regarding what he wants to do beyond the end of the current season, and that has put other things on hold.

Calciomercato.com report that the Milan management are approaching the situation serenity and gratitude towards a player who has always given everything on and off the pitch since joining Milan.

They know that Giroud is very tempted by the USA and would like to have an experience in the MLS with a guaranteed future also as a director. The Rossoneri, for their part, already have a new contract ready until 2025 because they believe his goals and leadership are important.

However, the Frenchman has been in negotiations with Los Angeles FC for a few weeks and the discussions are quite advanced even if there is not yet a total agreement over the terms of the contract.

The bond that the 37-year-old feels with Milan is leading him to fully evaluate what he wants to do. A farewell at the end of the season remains a very likely scenario but no final decision has been made. Or at least the Rossoneri have not yet received any official communication.

Milan’s plan A would be to renew Giroud’s contract and then reduce the reliance on him by signing a quality number nine for the future. On the other hand, his departure would change everything on a strategic level because then two top-level signings would be needed.

It is a mission that appears rather complicated, especially on an economic level. What about Luka Jovic? At present, Milan has not yet decided whether to renew his contract for another season, meaning the Serbia international must do more in this season finale.
