Andre Onana is edging closer to a return to Turkish football.

Fresh details have emerged regarding the financial package involved in the move.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper is not part of Michael Carrick’s plans for the 2026/27 campaign and is set to continue his career away from Old Trafford once again.

He played 102 times for Manchester United and, although he was part of the club’s 2023/24 FA Cup-winning team, it’s safe to say he didn’t live up to expectations.

According to Samuel Luckhurst on X, Trabzonspor will pay Manchester United a €1.5 million fee as part of the agreement to bring Andre Onana back next season.

The final details of the deal are still being sorted before everything is formally completed.

Onana set for Trabzonspor return

Onana spent last season in Turkey and enjoyed a productive campaign despite uncertainty surrounding his long-term future at Manchester United.

The 30-year-old made 29 league appearances for Trabzonspor, keeping six clean sheets as he established himself as a key figure for the Turkish side.

He also helped the club lift the Turkish Cup during his spell.

Trabzonspor supporters quickly took to Onana during his first stint, with the club eager to bring him back following his impressive performances.

Manchester United, meanwhile, appear well stocked in the goalkeeping department following the arrival of Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp last summer.

The Belgian enjoyed an outstanding debut campaign at Old Trafford and was even named the Premier League Signing of the Season after a series of excellent displays.

As a result, another move away for Onana has looked increasingly likely.

Trabzonspor are poised to welcome the goalkeeper back after a contract offer was recently agreed.
