Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium has been getting plenty of attention from fans across the country, and Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham is the latest to chime in.

Last weekend, Everton picked up all three points against Fulham on the docks, adding more pressure to Marco Silva.

It was a needed win for David Moyes, with an electric atmosphere inside the stadium. Everton fans were backing their team from start to finish.

Fulham supporters had good things to say about the new ground, and Burnham highlighted one particular aspect that sets it apart from modern venues like Tottenham’s home.

Moyes was also taken aback by the atmosphere inside Hill Dickinson Stadium during the game against the Cottagers.

That is a key reason why Burnham feels Everton’s new ground stands out from others in the league.

On The Added Time Podcast, Burnham expressed his opinion to Everton News columnist Alan Myers, explaining why he thinks Hill Dickinson is better than Tottenham’s stadium.

“I think Hill Dickinson is the first of a new generation of modern stadium, even more so than Spurs, I think, because that kind of noise factor is there, isn’t it?

“You know, the kind of soullessness of some of the modern stadia, I think, has sort of regenerated, but not in a way that you know. Look at West Ham fans. I think they felt pretty envious when they came to Hill Dickinson recently.”

The public transport situation around Hill Dickinson Stadium once again frustrated fans over the weekend, with many left waiting for hours to leave the docks.

Still, what happens inside Everton’s new stadium continues to meet expectations.

Hill Dickinson Stadium set for another noise boost

Steve Parish spoke highly of the Hill Dickinson Stadium, saying it exceeded his expectations after having a soft spot for Goodison Park.

The energy inside the ground was exactly what fans had hoped for when the new stadium was first planned. And there could be even more to come, with talk of expanding the capacity to around 62,000.

Not everyone is a fan, though. Jamie O’Hara did not hold back, calling Everton’s new home a knockoff of Tottenham’s and tossing some harsh words their way.

He stated: “Have you seen Everton’s Stadium? Have you seen inside it? It looks like a toy Spurs stadium.”

But looking past O’Hara’s criticism, it is worth noting that Everton have built strong form at home this season – something Spurs would surely like to match.
