Ange Postecoglou far from safe as Daniel Levy ponders Tottenham Hotspur decision

Tottenham Hotspur ended their season positively by winning the Europa League and qualifying for the Champions League. Yet their domestic season was a bitter disappointment, with exits early from both domestic cup competitions and can only finish a place above the relegation zone in the league. Because of this terrible domestic form, TBR Football reports Ange Postecoglou believes he can still be sacked.

Spurs sealed a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao, etching Ange Postecoglou’s name into the club’s history.

Despite the triumph, Postecoglou remains uncertain about his future. According to TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, the Australian expects to be dismissed as Tottenham head coach soon. Sources reveal that Postecoglou has urged chairman Daniel Levy to give him more time to lead the team. However, he is also aware that Levy has been actively exploring potential replacements. If a change does happen, it will likely be due to the team’s dismal league performance.

Postecoglou left baffled by questions over his future just days after guiding Spurs to European glory

Opinions among pundits and fans remain divided about the Australian manager’s future, with some convinced he will stay, others expecting him to be dismissed, and a few believing he may leave by his own choice.

After Tottenham’s 4-1 defeat to Brighton in the post-game presser, Ange described feeling “really weird” being asked about his future following the Europa League victory. He admitted that while he’s had to respond to these questions since no one else at the club could, he finds it strange to discuss his future after achieving something unprecedented.

The Australian expressed confidence that this triumph could mark a turning point for Tottenham, believing the club can build on this success to become a consistent contender for trophies, just as he has done with previous teams where his impact continued long after his departure.

Ange believes he is not the right man ask for his future

“I will be honest – I have been finding it really weird talking about my future when we have done something unprecedented.”

“But I can’t answer that question about me and my future. Like I said, part of me is thinking ‘why am I even being asked that question?’ But it is what it is.”

“I have got no doubt though that this could be a real defining moment for this club because wherever I have been I have made an impact where I have brought success to a club that hasn’t had it for a while.”

As fans, we hope Ange stays to prove what he can achieve in his third season. While there are other managerial candidates in the mix and his poor domestic record cannot be ignored, only time will reveal what the future holds for the Australian.
