Tottenham’s injury problems have grown ahead of their trip to Manchester United.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed Ben Davies and Giovani Lo Celso could both face a month in the treatment room, but Romero is nearing a return to action.

“From the last game, Ben Davies obviously came up with a hamstring so probably looking at a month or so for him out,” Postecoglou revealed in his press conference on Friday, as per The Standard.

“[Lo Celso] similar although it’s harder to diagnose where he’s at, we’re going to send him for further tests to look at some issues. He’s out this weekend. Dane Scarlett has picked up an injury in training so he’ll miss out.”

It was first suggested that Romero would face up to four to five weeks out, but he has now returned to training but won’t be fit enough to face United this weekend.

“Coming back, the only one who has joined the main group today is Romero,” Postecoglou added.

“That’s it I think, everyone else who is injured is training away from the main group. Romero’s just started training so fair to say it may be a bit quick this weekend.”

United have had a flurry of injuries this season and Erik ten Hag expects a few key players to return to the matchday squad on Sunday. All three Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Casemiro will be in contention for selection for the first time in a long time.

Meanwhile, Spurs will travel to Old Trafford hoping to move ahead of rivals Arsenal in the table.

The Gunners aren’t in action this weekend, but we also need to turn our season around and remember that they beat us 2-0 in the reverse fixture this season.
