Ange Postecoglou names player who will play an ‘important’ part in the absence of Perisic and Solomon

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has expressed his belief that Bryan Gil is now ready to make a significant contribution to the team following his return to full fitness.

Gil had been sidelined due to a groin issue that required surgery, prolonging his absence from action.

However, he has now regained full fitness and made his return to the bench in the recent game against Luton.

Speaking to the media ahead of the Premier League match against Fulham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday, Postecoglou highlighted Gil’s importance to the team.

He also stated the importance of Gil’s availability given the injuries to key players like Ivan Perisic and Manor Solomon, who typically occupy the left wing position.

Gil’s return provides depth in that area, and Postecoglou stated his optimism about his contribution.

He said:

“He can be really important for us. Bryan is one where in the last couple of weeks, it’s been great to have him working really hard in training, he’s missed all of the season so far, and it’s well chronicled that we’ve lost Ivan (Perisic) and lost Manor (Solomon), who play in that left wing position, so having Bryan available again ins great for us.”

“He’s in the same place as everyone else, at some point he’ll get an opportunity and then it’s up to him.”

“He certainly has all the criteria to play in that position for is and his training is getting stronger now, he’s part of the group and I’m sure he’ll get an opportunity.”

With a Monday night game followed by a Friday night game, Tottenham will need a strong squad to navigate these fixtures, and Gil’s availability will be a valuable asset in the coming matches.

Despite transfer speculation during the summer, Gil expressed his commitment to Tottenham and his desire to compete for a place in the team.

His versatility and playing style appear to align well with Postecoglou’s vision for the team.

Now, it remains to be seen how Gil performs under Ange’s attacking system as he aims to make a positive impact on the pitch.
