Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze, and he is one of those players who has been likened with a possible move to N17 for a long time. And while Daniel Levy has wasted weeks trying to ponder if a deal could be done, the Lilywhites noisy neighbours Arsenal have now taken an interest in the 26-year-old.

The Gunners have been looking to bring in someone who can operate from that left flank, and given that they are targeting Real Madrid wide forward Rodrygo, but that is leading them nowhere. Arsenal have started to pivot, and one of the first stops that Mike Arteta has taken is to get a former London Colney academy player back to N5 as Arsenal ramp up their interest in Crystal Palace midfielder tagged as drunken master, given the flair that he brings to the roster.

While Arsenal have Gabriel Martinelli as the first choice on that left wing, with Leandro Trossard more of a deputy but used as a squad player (and let’s admit the Belgian has arguably overperformed since his move to N5, given that the former Brighton ace is almost matching Eze’s output from last season in fewer minutes). But that being said, neither Trossard nor Martinelli has reached a consistency which Arsenal demand, and that is where their interest in Eze comes in.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that their club, a couple of stops further up the Victoria Line on the London Underground, could end up being a firm destination. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, he wrote:

Daniel Levy needs to ramp it up if he is serious about signing Eze

Eze is one of those players who holds a very high capacity to succeed under Thomas Frank, and if Daniel Levy is serious about backing his new head coach, he cannot let the England international join Arsenal. He needs to ramp up the talks with Palace and Eze’s camp and try to get this deal over the line.
