Arsenal considering Marcus Rashford move

Marcus Rashford has been actively linked with moves away from Manchester United, just months after his return to the club following the World Cup.

The England international, who played in United’s defeat at Hull City last weekend, has rejected offers from Fenerbahce.

Reports have also suggested that the 28-year-old, alongside all parties, see his immediate future at Old Trafford.

Even with that, however, clubs continue to be linked with a move for the left-winger.

Chelsea are amongst these, with some reports suggesting that The Blues were considering a move, although look unlikely to in the closing stages of this window.

For Premier League champions Arsenal, on the other hand, the situation appears much different.

Having initially monitored Rashford towards the backend of last season, alongside Bayern Munich, striker Michael Owen then encouraged the Gooners to make a move.

With this in mind, The Independent have now reported that Arsenal are considering a move for the 28-year-old.

Mikel Arteta’s side have already made five signings during this summer’s transfer window, including Bruno Guimaraes, and the gap to make a move for Marcus Rashford now looks open.

Fenerbahce are out of the picture, for the time being, whilst Chelsea and Liverpool look unlikely to strike their own moves for the left-winger. Arsenal, therefore, look the most likely candidates to make a move currently.

Whether the Premier League champions would be able to complete a deal for the 28-year-old in time, given the imminent deadline, remains unclear although a decision will likely have to take place in the next couple of days.

Whilst Arsenal consider their options, Marcus Rashford remains focused on Sunday’s fixture against Ipswich Town where he could play at Old Trafford for the first time since returning to the club.
