Arsenal eased past West Ham United 2-0, putting in a strong performance on the road.
Even after losing Martin Odegaard to injury early on, the Gunners remained in control and kept up their pressure throughout the match.
Declan Rice found the net against his old side to open the scoring, and Bukayo Saka added a second from the spot to wrap things up.
The two goalscorers played well, but it was Martin Zubimendi who really stood out.
The summer signing – who cost £51 million according to Sky Sports – came on for Odegaard and took charge of the game from midfield.
Arsenal supporters knew they were getting a top player in Zubimendi, but he has gone beyond even those high expectations.
He was outstanding again in the win over West Ham. While Rice and Saka got the goals, most fans felt Zubimendi deserved to be named Man of the Match.
One fan wrote on X: “Martin Zubimendi is simply world-class. Knows how to control the tempo of a game and when to break lines and progress. Deceptively aggressive too. Sublime footballer in a silent role. You learn our system by watching Zubimendi. Mr. Available at any phase of the game.”
Another added: “Zubimendi is Arsenal’s best summer signing. What a player.”
A third said: “Zubimendi’s in-game intelligence is on another level. You don’t associate him with the usual physically robust destroyer type DM, but he is almost always there when you need him to win the ball, and his passing into the final third is so sublime.”
One last fan posted: “Zubimendi changed the game. POTM for me.”

Zubimendi was outstanding for Arsenal in their 2-0 win over West Ham.
The former Real Sociedad midfielder was involved in the build-up to both goals and dictated the tempo throughout his time on the pitch.
In a mere 60 minutes, he recorded 80 touches and successfully completed 68 out of 72 passes. He also connected with all five of his long balls.
Defensively, he won five out of six duels, made three clearances, and recorded five tackles, according to Sofascore.
Zubimendi looked like he has been part of this team for years, so it is no surprise that many fans saw him as the best player on the pitch.
