Portuguese outlet Record reports that Arsenal could once again look to Sporting this summer, with Diomande emerging as a target. Arsenal have already made contact with Diomande’s representatives while exploring the possibility of a move during the upcoming transfer window.
The center back recently signed a new four-year deal with Sporting, though the agreement is viewed more as a way to protect the club’s transfer value than a long-term commitment keeping him in Lisbon throughout peak years. The contract includes a release clause worth €80 million (£70 million).
Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are also credited with strong interest in the 22-year-old. Palace previously considered Diomande as a potential successor to Marc Guehi last summer and could renew that pursuit later this year.
