Arsenal’s season has been largely impressive so far, leaving them four points clear in the Premier League, winning all four Champions League games and in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.
It remains to be seen how they navigate through a busy end-of-year schedule, but looking ahead to 2026, Arsenal’s January schedule has been finalised, with four games selected for TV coverage.
Arsenal’s performances have been highly impressive, without considering the injury problems they have experienced this season, missing key players for vital periods, such as Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz.
They have proven difficult to beat domestically and in Europe, proving to be solid defensively and dangerous in attack. As the year draws to a close, the Gunners should be boosted by the return of key players such as Odegaard, Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres.
Conceding late on at Sunderland to draw 2-2 before the international break was disappointing, but it doesn’t undo all the work they’d done since losing to Liverpool back in August.
As we edge closer towards a busy Christmas period and start to 2026, many squads will be pushed to the limits. Arsenal have dealt impressively with all injury problems so far, due to their exceptional summer transfer window, which saw Martin Zubimendi and Gyokeres join, among others.
With the FA Cup due to start in January and the Carabao Cup later stages taking place, Arteta will have to rotate his squad to protect his players and keep them fresh. But it’s expected that Noni Madueke and others will return sooner rather than later.
Arsenal’s squad will be tested, but the Gunners look to have a resolve about them that they’ve lacked in previous years. Can Arteta’s team win a major trophy this season?
