On Jan. 9, RMC Sport reported (h/t Le10Sport) that PSG has made a contract extension offer to Barcola. The outlet noted that negotiations had initially started with the forward’s former agent. Still, they later stopped and have now resumed with Barcola’s new representative, the same agent who represents Ousmane Dembélé.
There is currently no indication that Barcola intends to extend his stay at PSG, especially as several English and European clubs are reportedly interested in him. In Paris, Barcola faces strong competition from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, which could push him to seek a guaranteed starting role elsewhere.
On Jan. 8, TEAMtalk transfer insider Graeme Bailey reported, citing sources, that Arsenal have made an inquiry about Barcola, as the French forward weighs his long-term future at PSG.
The report adds that intermediaries have been exploring a potential move and have held discussions with several clubs, including Arsenal.
Barcola isn’t expected to be available this month, but the links to England are genuine, with a transfer possible in the summer or later. If Arsenal pursue the PSG attacker, they could face competition from Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Manchester City.
