Arsenal Loan Watch – Players Current out on Loan

Arsenal are currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table. Mikel Arteta’s men look poised to win their first league title in over 20 years – but how are their loan stars getting on at the moment?

Currently, Arsenal have five senior team players who are out on loan. They play for clubs such as Brentford, Porto and Marseille – but how have they been performing during the 2025/26 season?

Ethan Nwaneri

Still the youngest debutant in Premier League history, Ethan Nwaneri isn’t ready for a regular spot in Arsenal’s senior team just yet – as such, the Gunners opted to ship him out on loan to Marseille.

He has had a decent start to life at Marseille, scoring a goal and notching up an assist in his first five Ligue 1 games, but he has received criticism after he put the final penalty over the bar in a crucial shoot-out.

This will be the first major hurdle that Nwaneri has faced during his short career – let’s see how he handles it.

Jakub Kiwior

Jakub Kiwior was generally used as a backup option at Arsenal – with defensive upgrades having been made over the summer, it made sense to loan the Polish international out.

He’s having a decent season at Porto, having made 17 appearances for them in the Primeira Liga. Additionally, he also notched up a solitary assist along the way.

Porto are currently sat atop the Portuguese League – this certainly implies that Kiwior has been a success at the Estádio do Dragão.

Fabio Vieira

Another player who has been forced out as a result of summer reinforcements, Fabio Vieira never really hit the ground running at the Emirates Stadium.

Despite his lacklustre run with the Gunners, he is enjoying a decent season on loan at Hamburg in the Bundesliga. As things stand, the Portuguese winger has scored four goals and has notched up four assists in Germany’s top division.

The strength of the Bundesliga is in question at the moment, but nevertheless, Vieira has been able to get his career back on track at the Volksparkstadion.

Karl Hein

Karl Hein has been at Arsenal since 2018, but has yet to make a first-team appearance in the Premier League for the Gunners. With David Raya between the sticks, this doesn’t look set to change any time soon – therefore, Hein was shipped out to Werder Bremen.

However, even at Werder, Hein has struggled for game time. He has played in just two games all season for Die Werderaner, conceding four goals during this time.

All four goals were conceded in one game, when Werder were beaten 4-0 by Bayern Munich back in September – he did manage to keep a clean sheet in his next appearance, but he hasn’t returned to the starting XI since.

Reiss Nelson

It’s hard to not feel sympathy for Reiss Nelson. On his day, Nelson is a phenomenal player and could easily be a rotational member of the Gunners’ squad, but injuries have ruined his chances time and time again.

Unfortunately, his injury woes have persisted into his loan spell at Brentford. As such, Nelson has made just six Premier League appearances for the Bees in 2025/26.

Hopefully, Nelson can fix his recurring issues – at the age of just 26, his professional career is far from over.
