Arsenal had a very promising weekend in their hopes of securing the Premier League title for the first time in 22 years.
This is despite two successive 0-0 Premier League draws.
After a goalless encounter with Liverpool on the Thursday night, Arsenal followed this up with another 0-0, drawing away to Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening.
This is because Manchester City have failed to in each of their past four games.
Draws to Sunderland, Chelsea and Brighton and Hove Albion were followed by Saturday’s early kickoff defeat away to Manchester United.
Goals from Bryan Mbuemo and Patrick Dorgu mean that City have not won a Premier League game since December 27th.
Aston Villa’s game against Everton on Sunday gave them a chance to make it a four-point gap between then and Arsenal.
However, they lost 1-0 to Everton, giving Arsenal the perfect weekend without even getting a win.
Arsenal take on Man United at home on Sunday and will want to avoid suffering the same fate as City did.
The Gunners received a timely injury boost with Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie both being involved in full training, but they will be without one player on Sunday, who has secured a temporary move away from the club.
It has been confirmed that French side Olympique Marseille have signed Arsenal winger Ethan Nwaneri, as revealed on their website.
The 18-year old has joined the Ligue 1 side on a loan deal until the rest of the season.
Marseille are no stranger to signing English players, whether it was Chris Waddle and Joey Barton to their current crop.
They currently boast three English players in their squad, in CJ Egan-Riley, Angel Gomes and Mason Greenwood.
The club also have many ex-Premier League players, such as Neal Maupay, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nayef Aguerd and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.
Marseille’s next league game sees them take on leaders RC Lens, as they look to reduce the gap between them at the top from seven points to four.
