Arsenal will be looking to build momentum after a narrow 1-2 loss against Bournemouth. Mikel Arteta’s men will be travelling to the Parc des Princes to overturn their 1-o deficit against Paris Saint-Germain to keep their European dreams alive. Total Apex Sports provides our Arsenal predicted lineup for their clash against the French giants on the 7th of May 2025.
The Gunners visited the Vitality Stadium on May 3, where they succumbed to a narrow 1-2 loss to Bournemouth. Arsenal’s lone goal came from Declan Rice as he increased his tally to 10 goals in all competitions. Arteta made two changes from the side that suffered a 1-0 loss in their Champions League clash against PSG.
David Raya made his 34th appearance for Arsenal in the Premier League this season as he remained between the sticks. The defensive line consisted of William Saliba and Jakub Kiwior at the heart of the defence, Miles Lewis-Skelly retained his position as left-back, while Ben White came in for Jurien Timber at right-back. Thomas Partey made his first start since coming back from injury, playing alongside Martin Ødegaard and Rice.
Bukayo Saka remained Arteta’s pick at the right flank, despite Ethan Nwaneri being available as a rotational option for the 23-year-old. The Englishmen were eventually substituted in the 86th minute. The same applied to Gabriel Martinell, who started on the left flank and was replaced by Raheem Sterling. Leandro Trossard led Arsenal’s attack on Saturday but couldn’t cut his way through the Cherries’ defence, with the Belgian having just one shot on target.
The Gunners were aiming to extend their unbeaten run after a frustrating 2-2 draw against 12th-placed Crystal Palace. Kiwior put the Gunners in front early in the 3rd minute, which was cancelled out by Palace through Eberechi Eze in the 27th minute. Trossard fired back shortly before the stroke of half-time, but they ultimately dropped points due to a late Jean-Phillipe Mateta goal in the 84th minute.
A tough task awaited Arteta’s men as they hosted Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final. Ousmane Dembele scored early in the 4th minute to put his side ahead, and was pretty much the match winner against the Gunners. With only two changes made in their previous lineup, Arsenal headed to the Vitality Stadium at the weekend. Declan Rice continues on his red-hot form as he scored in the first half, but just like the Palace game, they were the victim of a comeback, and lost all three points.
The Gunners have quite a lengthy injury list, but they’ve been handed a major boost ahead of their Champions League clash against PSG. Riccardo Calafiori has missed ten matches due to a knee injury sustained while on international duty. Arteta spoke positively on the Italian’s fitness: “He’s travelled, and he’s fit and he’s ready to play when we need him. So that’s great news, obviously.”
Timber was also a doubt as he missed Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League. Arteta made no promises, saying: “We will assess him today, whether he can start the game or not.” The Gunners’ lengthy injury list includes the likes of Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Magalhães, and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Partey missed the semi-finals first leg after he picked up a yellow card in the win against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Ghanaian could be the boost Arteta’s men need to spark a comeback. Saka and Trossard are also potential suspensions to consider, as they are both on a yellow card and could potentially miss out on the final should Arsenal progress.
