AS Roma submit massive bid to sign Joshua Zirkzee

Joshua Zirkzee is seemingly getting closer to a Manchester United exit as AS Roma are ramping up their pursuit of the struggling striker.

Whilst the former Netherlands international has failed to establish himself at Old Trafford, he still is held in high regard in Italy after his spell with Bologna.

Now, Il Messaggero has reported that a deal has been put forward by Roma for Zirkzee in a bid to sign him in January.

It’s understood the offer is for a loan with option to buy, with a loan fee of £4.4 million (€5 million) and option to buy at the end of the season for £26.3 million (€30 million).

However, there is also a bonus of £4.4 million (€5 million) to be included if Roma qualify for the Champions League.

As such, the full offer stands at £35 million (€40 million), which is much closer to United’s asking price of £43.8 million (€50 million).

Whilst there is still a gap between the two, it’s certainly a step forward in negotiations, however The Red Devils are still determined to keep him until after the Africa Cup of Nations.

This is a breaking story with more to follow.
