Ash Moreau officially joins Manchester United

Ash Moreau has officially joined Manchester United at a time when change continues across the club both on and off the pitch.

Michael Carrick’s side have endured a difficult opening to 2026/27, collecting just five points from their opening five Premier League matches despite significant summer investment.

United rebuilt their midfield by signing Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos and Carlos Baleba, while experienced goalkeeper Karl Darlow also arrived following his departure from Leeds United.

Baleba has only recently made his first United appearance in a behind-closed-doors victory over Lausanne-Sport after arriving with an ankle injury.

Yet United’s work has stretched far beyond senior recruitment.

Carrington remains central to the club’s identity, and there has been movement within the academy structure as United continue attempting to develop the next generation capable of reaching Old Trafford.

Six youngsters recently made unofficial senior debuts in that Lausanne friendly.

Moreau now becomes another new arrival at Carrington.

Who is new Manchester United arrival Ash Moreau?

Moreau announced the move on LinkedIn, confirming that he has started a new position as Manchester United’s Youth Development Phase Coach.

His profile lists the role as full-time from October 2026.

Moreau arrives with extensive experience developing both young footballers and coaches.

He spent 11 seasons across two spells with Fleetwood Town and most recently served as the club’s Head of Coaching from April 2023 until October 2026.

Before that, he worked as Head of Coaching at Rossall School and held several positions at Fleetwood, including Foundation and Youth Development Phase Coach and International Lead Phase Coach/U15 Lead.

Moreau also works as an FA Coach Developer, tutoring UEFA C and B Licence courses.

His work extends beyond players.

Fleetwood staff have publicly credited Moreau with supporting their own coaching development and qualification journeys.

His next chapter now begins at Carrington.
